Meet Shannon

Shannon L. Sobieraj, MS, OTR/L is originally from Boulder, Colorado where she completed her undergraduate education at the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology.  After moving to Northern California, she pursued a graduate degree from Dominican University of California where she graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.  She completed her pediatric training at the California Pacific Medical Center, Kalmanovitz Child Development Center.  She has worked in a variety of pediatric practice settings including hospitals, schools, and private practice in San Francisco and Marin County.

 

She is experienced working with children aged 0-16 years with diagnoses including, but not limited to, global developmental delay, spectrum disorders, genetic disorders, gross motor and fine motor delays, attention deficit disorder, anxiety disorder, and sensory processing disorder.  She strongly believes in a collaborative, holistic, and family-centered approach to therapy in order to be an effective evaluator and interventionist with her clients. Shannon’s advanced training includes Sensory Processing and Integration, Neuro – Motor Reflex Integration, Handwriting Without Tears, Bal-A-Vis-X, Visual Perceptual Processing Skills, Therapeutic Listening, and Interactive Metronome.

 

In addition, she frequently incorporates socio-emotional, social thinking, and mindfulness protocols into her treatments such as Super Flex, Zones of Regulation, The Alert Program, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Shannon, with her husband and two young boys live in Marin County where they enjoy hiking, biking, and exploring the outdoors.
